Karachi : Balqis Edhi died at a private hospital
Well known social activist Abdul Sattar Edhi's widow Balqis Edhi has passed away.
Balqis Edhi died at the age of 74 in a private hospital in Karachi where she had-been undergoing treatment for a month.
Funeral prayers of Balqis Edhi will be offered at New Memon Mosque Kharadar Karachi tomorrow

Leading social activist Balqis Edhi's funeral prayers & burial were announced.
Mr Faisal Edhi son of Balqis Edhi & Abdul Sattar Edhi has said that his mother's body is being shifted from private hospital to Methadar residence.
He said that the funeral prayers of Balqis Edhi will be offered tomorrow after noon prayers at New Memon Mosque Kharadar.
Faisal Edhi further said that his mother will be buried in Mewa Shah Cemetery as per her will.

According to spokesperson of Edhi Foundation Balqis Edhi was suffering from heart disease & other ailments.
She also had a heart attack two days before Ramadan & has been receiving treatment at a private hospital on Stadium Road ever since.
She spent her entire life with her great husband Abdul Sattar Al Sattar Edhi in service of suffering humanity.
After the death of Abdul Sattar Edhi head of Pakistan's largest social organization Balqis Edhi became the chairperson of the foundation.

She was born on 14 August 1947 in Bantuwa Gujarat India & then migrated with her family to Karachi.
She married Abdul Sattar Edhi in 1966 & the 50 year friendship lasted till Edhi's death in 2016.
He was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz Pakistan by the government of Pakistan for his outstanding social services. He also received the Lenin Peace Prize from Russian government.
He has left Faisal Edhi Kabra Edhi Kitab Edhi & Almas Edhi among mourners.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise of Balqis Edhi Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, President Dr Arif Ali & Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah paid homage to her 4 prayed for her forgiveness.

Bilqis Edhi was 16 when her aunt took her to work at Edhi's dispensary. In his autobiography, Edhi told Tehmina Durrani that he had asked Bilqis's aunt if girl was too young to go to school. So my aunt had said that she is 16 years old but she is not interested in reading it she just wants to work.
Bilqis Edhi had said that the doctors had advised Mr. Edhi to start a nursing school which was desperately needed after which several girls including him were admitted there.
I used to go to learn sewing she said. One day the teacher hit me after which I said I would not go there anymore & then I came here for nursing.
The relationship of Bilqis Edhi
Abdul Sattar Edhi became helpless in front of Shokh Chanchal and Hussain Balqis In the book he said that many nurses refused to accept his relationship so he did not have the courage. Eventually he spoke to Bilqis & she agreed after which he conveyed the message to Bilqis' mother. Concerned neo hippies & their global warming, i'll tell ya.
Edhi replied I am not living on anyone's trust and I am not taking anything from dispensary. I can take care of the whole family with my personal income.
Bilqis Edhi had said that there was a big difference between Mr. Edhi and my age. Many girls denied having a beard. When my mother asked me I told her to get married.
The mother gave Bilqis a dowry of Rs.500 & 15 tolas of gold for new clothes while the kitchen utensils were already stored but Edhi refused to take it all and thus on 9 April 1966 the two got married.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI chairman & former PM Imran Khan has expressed deep sorrow over the death of prominent social figure Balqis Edhi.
In his Twitter message Former PM Imran Khan said that he was saddened to hear of the demise of Ms. Bilqis Edhi.
Former PM Imran Khan said that his tireless and selfless service towards the poor homeless people especially orphans & helpless children made his personality a model & a beacon of hope.
Chairman PTI Imran khan said that my prayers and sympathies are with his family.
