No confidence motion resolution : important meeting of the National Assembly is being held on Monday after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that there was a conspiracy to change his government with money coming from abroad. The agenda includes a No confidence motion against the Prime Minister. The hearing of the presidential reference filed for interpretation of Article 63A of the Constitution will be held again in the Supreme Court today.

Analysts say that when Supreme Court Pakistan made it clear during the recent hearing of the presidential reference that it didn't have the authority to interfere in the proceedings of no Confidence motion in Parliament. That now the government has no option but to vote on this resolution.

Mr Ahmed Bilal Mehboob head of PLDAT an organization that closely monitors elections and parliament in Pakistan said that the National Assembly should convene within 14 days after the no confidence motion is tabled as per the rules and procedures of the National Assembly. no confidence motion will also be on the agenda of the 1st day of the meeting.
He said that when a resolution was tabled in the House by the Opposition Speaker National Assembly would be required to act on it in accordance with rules.
Explaining the procedure Ahmed Bilal Mehboob said that Speaker would hold a vote for its approval after the resolution was tabled.
If there are a majority of votes in favor of this resolution then three to 4 days will be allotted for discussion on this resolution in which members of the ruling party and the opposition will make their speeches against and in favor of this resolution.
Parliamentary action cannot be a challenge.
Former Speaker of the National Assembly Pak Hamid Nasir Chatha said that he has power to adjourn the session of the National Assembly for an indefinite period.
He said that normally a meeting of National Assembly is convened on the recommendation of Prime Minister but the Speaker National Assembly convenes a meeting on the motion of no confidence.
Mr Hamid Nasir Chatha who was the Speaker of the National Assembly from 31 May 1986 to 31 December 1988 under ex Prime Minister Muhammad Khan Junejo said that if any member of the current Assembly dies it is a common practice. After the death of this member first session of National Assembly Pakistan is adjourned after Fateha Khawani.
How ever he said that it was not necessary 4 Speaker National Assembly to adjourn sitting after Fateha Khawani & if he wished he could continue the proceedings of the Assembly after Fateha Khawani.

Mr Hamid Nasir Chatha said that whatever speeches are in favor of or against No confidence motion and if Speaker National Assembly thinks that there has been a lively discussion between the opposition and the ruling party then the Speaker should vote on this motion. Can do.
