Approval for Appointment of Principal Secretary to PM Azam Khan in World Bank
Approval was given for Appointment of Azam Khan Principal Secretary to PM in World Bank.
Sources said that PM Imran Khan has approved the appointment of Principal Secretary Azam Khan as the Executive Director of the World Bank.
Azam Khan had been Principal Secretary to Prime Minister for three & a half years.
Sources said that Mr Azam Khan will replace Naveed Kamran Baloch as the Executive Director of the World Bank.

What is matter ? What is the secret & who will benefit from it?
There was a lot of speculation in this regard that Azam Khan has left the side of Prime Minister.
One thing is hidden in midst of all this talk & that is that SBP must have some role to play in bringing Azam Khan to this post. In this regard senior journalist Mubashir Luqman says that There should be no objection to success but question is why Pakistan has been mortgaged to the World Bank and IMF for the sake of an individual.
He said that it was sad that seniorofficers were trying to darken the future of Pakistan for the sake of their own future which was-not a good omen.
He also said that the SBP the country largest institution has been sacrificed for the sake of one individual & the nation will pay the price.
It may be recalled that a few days ago Secretary to the Prime Minister Muhammad Azam Khan was approved to be appointed as the Executive Director of the World Bank. According to the report Ministry of Economic Affairs had sent a summary to Prime Minister.
A government official who worked with Azam Khan said that hewas a dynamic intelligent & unconcerned man who knew his job well.
Azam Khan hails from the 17th Common Beach of the CSS & has studied at-country leading higher education institutions such as Abbottabad and Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad.
Describing the meeting with Azam Khan then IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Ehsan Ghani said that he said to Azam Khan Show me the letter that you have to send to the Chief Minister. Lala I knew you would stop me so I came to your house after sending a letter to the Chief Ministers Secretariat.
Ehsan Ghani who worked with Azam Khan says that Azam is a dynamic intelligent and selfless man who knows his job well.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa didn't like Azam Khan resignation as Home Secretary so he was appointed as Secretary Tourism as a standing line appointment. In the world of bureaucracy term standing line is used to refer to appointments where there is neither authority nor resources.
This was a big challenge for Muhammad Azam Khan.

Azam Khan remained here for some time then he was appointed to a difficult post like Additional Chief Secretary FATA & after some time there he was re appointed as Secretary Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This time during his tenure as Secretary Tourism he took out the plans prepared in his first term and started implementing them. He-had served as Deputy Commissioner in-Peshawar under Musharraf & earlier in various capacities in other parts of the province including Swat. Therefore he was well aware of the modalities of implementation of measures taken 4 promotion of tourism at the district level. Therefore a movement started across the province.
Azam Khan has been serving as Secretary to PM Imran khan since August 2018. Naveed Kamran Baloch is currently the Executive Director of World Bank. Notification of appointment of Naveed Kamran Baloch as Executive Director was issued on 5 October 2020.
Appointment as Executive Director was applied from 25th December 2020. Naveed Kamran Baloch was appointed Executive Director till October 31 2022. Muhammad Azam Khan will assume the responsibilities of the World Bank from November 1 2022 as the Executive Director. Establishment Division officials said that Establishment Division has-not yet received the summary for re-verification.
